RECORDING ARTIST
VYRÈNNE
vyrènne is a recording artist with classical roots & a passion for house music. in addition to her training as a vocalist & performing artist, she has extensive experience as an improvisational pianist & music theorist, spanning a broad spectrum of genres & harmonic structures. inspired by the gothic, regency & victorian eras, her style has developed musically as well as visually. while her musical canon showcases an ability to merge academic discipline & classical technique with innovative production, she has branded a visually timeless aesthetic — where historic depth & personal vulnerability emerge in an artistry that has taken root in house acoustic productions reminiscent of 17th century, french airs de cours. tied together by threads of romance and legacy, exploring vyrènne’s work feels like letting time stand still. “live in legend,” the title track of her debut album, black phantom, details the age old estrangement that comes with fracturing in-born expectations of what makes life worth living. her sub themes have sardonic edge, & often flirt with an ego that splits with intensity. vyrènne spent most of her life exploring forms of self expression, taking particular interest in music, philosophy & poetry. beyond performance, she engages in theoretical research and multidisciplinary creative development, exploring the intersections of philosophy, literature, & sound. vyrènne has the vocal range & tenor of a dramatic contralto — noted influences are jessye norman, kathleen battle, audra mcdonald, maynard james keenan, phil anselmo, victor borge, richard wagner, ernst mach, michel foucault, ernest hemingway, & arthur rimbaud.
